Advantages Of A Security Camera With Motion Sensor
Clearly a dummy security camera is less
expensive than the real thing, but if you are going to get one,
why not invest a little more for a dummy security
camera with motion sensor.
With a dummy camera, you don't have the high cost of a real
security camera, and you also don't have the additional cost of
monitoring the camera. You do however have the problem of
belief. If you've ever looked at some of these dummy security
cameras, you realize that only a dummy would fall for them. You
want your camera to at least be believable or it will be
worthless. The best way to do this is with a dummy security
camera with motion sensor. What this camera does is detect
motion. When it does, it will swivel up and down, and side to
side, basically providing a sweep of the area. A more expensive
motion sensor will even track the object as it moves.
The ones that track movement are clearly the most effective
and believable. If you plan on investing in a dummy security
camera with motion sensor, it makes sense to invest slightly
more for one of these higher end cameras. After all, if your
camera isn't going to fool someone, you're simply wasting your
investment. You'll still be spending far less than you would on
a real security camera, and the tracking will generally scare
away any would be burglars and vandals. Nobody likes to think
they're being watched.
These tracking cameras are actually pretty easy to find.
Most of your larger home improvement chain stores will carry
them. Some will even come and install them either free or for a
very low cost. If not, you'll have to do it yourself or
possibly hire a contractor to do the job. That's when you'll
want one that's very easy to install.
If you are going to be doing it yourself, your best bet is
to get one that runs on batteries. Generally, it's just a
matter of screwing a bracket into a wall to hold it up. Plug in
ones are generally as easy as far as mounting as concerned, but
if you don't have an outlet nearby, then you'll also have
to install one of these. Not only does this mean more
work, installing an outlet is best done by a professional for
safety reasons. Or you could simply have a very long extension
cord to the nearest outlet. But this would certainly look ugly,
but also be easy for a would be criminal to notice and unplug,
thereby giving him the impression that he is no longer being
watched. And the fact is, he isn't.
The hardest to install security camera with motion sensor is
one that is wired into a real system. Unless you are truly a
professional, don't attempt this yourself. You'll need a
qualified electrician for this installation.
The bottom line is to choose a system that meets your needs,
and still falls within whatever you may have budgeted.
